Suspicious Persons Alert – Nov. 22

A report of suspicious person(s) was reported during the weekend evening hours prowling in the area of Wetmore Road and Seminary Avenue. Descriptions received from staff members on occasions:

Public Safety staff made a visual on 4 black males, age 18-24, height(s) 5'7-5'9, wearing black hooded sweatshirts, jeans and sneakers. Staff attempted to make contact. The individuals ran and jumped over the fence onto Seminary Avenue they were observed getting into a white vehicle (Plymouth, Mercury or Pontiac)

Mills staff reports seeing 2 white males, height 5'7, wearing jackets, beanie hats standing at Sage Hall. The staff member thought this was unusual for the time of day. Public Safety was called to make contact. The two individuals noticed someone watching them and proceeded to walk down Wetmore road and disappeared possibly hopping the fence along Seminary Avenue.

These subject(s) may be suspect(s) in the recent burglaries. Please be alert to any suspicious activity around the Wetmore Rd. area. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 510-430-5555 to have a staff member document any information related to the above suspicious activity. All information will be forwarded to the Oakland Police Department Investigation Unit Detective assigned to our area.

We also ask that when parking your vehicle that your vehicle is locked and that no valuables are left in the vehicle. Often valuables are left in the vehicle and in plain sight from the outside. Please remove stereo face plates, books of CDs, cell phones, money, etc.

When using Pine Top Trail, find a partner or jog with a group. Run during daylight hours and know your route. Be aware of who's around you and of your surroundings. Tune into your surroundings, not out, and avoid wearing headphones.
