My first Comic-Con was absolutely amazing. For the last few years, I’ve talked about going but was never able to for whatever reason and now I was there at the convention! In San Diego! Just yesterday!

I was fortunate enough to know someone who had an industry badge and was his plus one for the weekend so I didn’t have to undergo the grueling experience of registration I heard so much about. I didn’t take as many photos as I would have liked but I wasn’t really in the mindset to whip out my camera every time I saw something or someone awesome. Every inch of the Exhibit Floor was covered in massive displays and eye-candy. There was simply too much happening, I couldn’t really keep up as an amateur photographer.

BUT I did save these jewels for The Campanil so please enjoy the pictures I’ve posted. There’s also a slideshow down at the bottom.

Above: I think she was my favorite costume this weekend: a Victorian/steam-punk reinterpretation of Wonder Woman. She made it all by herself and looked fantastic.

Speaking of amazing displays, I absolutely adored the kid-friendly section of the Floor. Here was the giant inflatable display of the hilarious cartoon Adventure Time‘s characters: Finn the human boy, Jake the dog with magical powers and Jake’s girlfriend, Lady Rainicorn the Korean-speaking unicorn!

Collectibles, such as the Neytiri figurine (above) from James Cameron’s Avatar, were displayed around the Floor. I was really impressed by the detailing and hand craftsmanship.

From left: Willow, Buffy and Faith from the TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Spike looks so freaking cool.

I recently got into Buffy the Vampire Slayer and have already fallen in love with the TV series since season one. I was totally eyeballing the Buffy collectibles above and dream of getting a few to call my own someday.

I did not expect to see the show host Conan O’Brien at such a close proximity. I am not worthy, I am not worthy…

Jamie Hyneman (left) and Adam Savage from the MythBusters at a Comic-Con panel I can't believe I was able to sit in on.

Comic-Con is not without its many, many panels. The best ones were the most difficult to get in to. So…I had to sneak in through the backdoor for the panel about the upcoming and highly anticipated animated show, The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra. There’s no good photo I’ve taken during that one because everyone’s arm was up in the air to snap photos of the concept art they showcased so my camera view was blocked.

I was overjoyed to be the one of the few fans to have seen the trailer before everyone else. You can check it out now below:

Just to get a good seat for the MythBusters panel, a ton of others like myself had to sit in the same room for hours and experience the panels we didn’t care too much for.

I did get to watch the unreleased pilot episodes for The Secret Circle (adapted from the same author who wrote The Vampire Diaries) and JJ Abrams’ action thriller TV series Person of Interest. I found the celebrities at the panel to be very warm and welcoming to their fans such as Nikita‘s Maggie Q who showed off her favorite action stunt on a very tall and lucky fanboy.

At the end of every day, even with all the awesome stuff going on, the best part about Comic-Con was being able to find two cushioned benches at a nearby hotel to sit and rest your feet on.

Can’t wait for next year!
