Mills College Safety Report: Feb. 1 to Present

According to crimemapping.com, the following incidents took place within a one-mile radius of Mills since Feb. 1:

Assault: 5
Burglary: 3
Fraud: 1
Motor vehicle theft: 10
Robbery: 2
Theft/Larceny: 8
Vandalism: 4

Feb. 1: A family in East Oakland was struck by a home invasion and robbery, ABC Local reported. Suspects were immediately identified and taken into police custody within an hour of the robbery.

Feb. 8: A body was found in an East Oakland home. According to SF Gate, police are investigating the death as a homicide but have not released any other information.

Feb. 10: A woman was fatally shot in an apartment complex in East Oakland, according to the Oakland Tribune. Crime Stoppers of Oakland and Police are offering up to a $10,000 reward for information. Call Police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.

Feb. 11: An Amber Alert was enacted in related to a possible carjacking and kidnapping. The alert was canceled the next day.
