DON'T STOP WRITING
Starts at 7:30 PM
Location: Danforth Lecture Hall

I would like to bring to your attention a lecture by Ginger Wolfe-Suarez, the artist, writer, and political activist, in conjunction with an exciting and dynamic new exhibition currently on view at the Mills College Art Museum. On Wednesday, October 8, Wolfe-Suarez will discuss the relationships between her practice and text, along with the history of nonviolence and writing. The lecture, DON’T STOP WRITING, begins at 7:30pm at Danforth Hall in the Art Building at Mills College. The exhibition, titled AS LONG AS YOU LIVE I WILL LIVE, focuses on her research into the first wave feminist movement, and is intended to illustrate Wolfe-Suarez’s interest in feminist principles and addressing social issues through art. Her work has been highly influenced by her mother, Jeanne Moen Wolfe, who collaborated with her on some of the pieces currently on display.

10/13: Celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day at Habitot Children's Museum!
Duration: 9:30 AM - 12:30 AM
Location: 2065 Kittredge Street • Berkeley, CA 94704

(Berkeley, CA) October 13, 2008 –Celebrate the art, culture, and history of the native peoples of the Americas at Habitot Children’s Museum on October 13, from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Children ages 0-6 will make dream catchers to take home: hang these string and colorful bead creations over kids’ beds to ‘catch’ good dreams! There’s more art to enjoy: designing vibrant totem poles out of recycled cardboard tubes and paints, and face-painting in traditional designs. Children will build bark canoes to send down the river in Habitot’s WaterWorks exhibit, while their baby brothers and sisters play with Native American rattles and colorful scarves in the Infant-Toddler Garden. All visitors can venture over to the Multicultural Reading Tent, for story-telling from Native American traditions from 11:00 to 12:00pm. For more information, please visit http://www.habitot.org.
