Oakland Celebrates Mills All Week

Oakland mayor Jean Quan declared the week of May12-18th to be Mills College Week, in celebration of the school’s beginnings in 1885.


City of Oakland proclaims a Mills College Week in May

The City of Oakland and Mayor Jean Quan have issued a proclamation declaring May 12 to May 18 Mills College Week, in honor of our 125th Commencement. While Mills was founded in 1852, it wasn’t chartered until 1888. Stay tuned for more details about this tribute in our upcoming Commencement issue.
