The Mills College Cross Country team finished fourth in the women's 5k race at Saturday's Mills Invitational. Their top runner, sophomore Lupe Cazares, finished 10th overall with a time of 22 minutes and 20 seconds. The Invitational, the team's only home meet, consisted of a women's 5k and a men's 8k.

On Monday, Sept. 10, the Mills Parenting Lounge opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The Parenting Lounge, which opened in the former Mary Atkins Glass Lounge, is the result of a year long struggle by the Mothers' Club for an on-campus child-friendly space for parents and their children.
On April 18 and 19, the Mills Children's School second and third grade classes performed their comedic rendition of James and the Giant Peach. Except their version was called James (and Jamie) and the Giant Peach. The play followed James and Jamie on a fantastic journey in the miraculous peach, along with such characters as a centipede with 49 legs, played by Ella Hammarstedt and a glowworm, played by Ushio Endo.
The piano adaptation of the Beatles' "Come Together" that filled the crowded dining hall ceased as Feona Lee, smiling a wide radiant grin, looked up, moved her hands from the piano keys to her plate of food in the brief respite, and awaited a well-wisher's request.
The Mills College Children's School performed The 13 Colonies.
At the 25th annual Athletic Awards Banquet, the APER staff recognized Mills student-athletes and the athletic community.
The Mills van service has upset students who are kicked off the shuttle service due to insufficient space, although the service is funded by students' tuition fees. On Saturday, Jan. 27, many students were headed to the Rockridge BART station in order to attend a San Francisco anti-war protest, but found themselves without transportation when the driver asked them to step off the van because it was full.
